With new interfaces from FIQAS, the occupational health service Bouw & Gezond delivers declaration and prevention data separately to the systems of Volandis, the knowledge and advice center in the construction sector, and ZorgTTP, the organization pseudonymizing sensitive personal data. Bouw & Gezond is the first occupational health service in the construction sector ready to deliver data via ZorgTTP and consequently the first occupational health service fully complying with the requirements of Volandis.
Occupational health service Bouw & Gezond, like all other construction occupational health services, used to send its declarations for conducted check-ups to the Arbouw Foundation for many years. This foundation was specifically established by the collective labor agreement partners in the construction sector to facilitate payment for the personnel’s check-ups. Arbouw then periodically reimbursed these declarations to the occupational health services.
In July 2016, the Arbouw Foundation ceased to exist, and Volandis, the new knowledge and advice center for sustainable employability in the Construction and Infrastructure sector, took over some of its responsibilities. Volandis also took over the payment of the check-up declarations. However, it wasn’t until the summer of 2017 that a new solid process was developed for processing check-up declarations. Until then, the occupational health services managed with a manual and therefore vulnerable declaration process based on manually edited spreadsheets and lists.
Volandis demands different data from the occupational health services than Arbouw did. The declaration files for Arbouw contained much more data than strictly necessary for handling the declaration: alongside declaration data, they included check-up data, including questionnaires, laboratory data, and personal information. This way, Arbouw collected big data for research, reports, and industry advice. However, with privacy in mind, Volandis requires that the declaration information is separated from the personal and thus privacy-sensitive prevention data. This setup requires the occupational health services to only provide Volandis with strictly necessary declaration data (assignment, type of check-up, time frame). They do this directly. Additionally, the occupational health services are expected to deliver a stream of prevention data, which will be pseudonymized by ZorgTTP and then forwarded to Volandis.
For the process of check-ups, declarations, and invoicing (and other occupational health-related processes such as absenteeism management), Bouw & Gezond uses software from FIQAS. With this software, Bouw & Gezond previously provided all data to the Arbouw Foundation using a single interface. Now, two separate interfaces are required for Volandis and ZorgTTP, for the declaration data and the prevention data. FIQAS implemented these in a few weeks for Bouw & Gezond. A fine example of adaptability from FIQAS, enabling Bouw & Gezond to meet Volandis’ requirements as the first occupational health service.
Additionally, Bouw & Gezond’s partner, Vechtstad Consultancy, will soon be implementing FIQAS’ solution. Vechtstad will immediately have access to the connections with Volandis and ZorgTTP.
