Sponsorship and charities

Each year, several FIQAS colleagues volunteer during national collection weeks, supporting causes like the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) and the Dutch Burns Foundation. Our Total Quality Manager, Stella, has been collecting for the Heart Foundation together with her daughter since 2018 and, since 2021, she has also taken on the role of collection coordinator for Aalsmeer. It’s great to see our colleagues so personally committed to good causes – and a perfect reason for FIQAS to make a generous donation to her collection tin.

Wheels4Freedom makes it possible for people with a physical disability to experience the freedom and excitement of motorcycling. With specially adapted motorcycles and the dedication of committed volunteers – all of whom work in healthcare – participants can ride along and enjoy speed, fresh air and adventure. A special experience that not only brings a big smile, but also contributes to a sense of connection and inclusion. A powerful initiative that FIQAS is proud to support.

Just like in previous years, FIQAS has made a financial contribution to Stichting DPJ for the development of educational materials focused on prevention. Since 1988, Stichting DPJ has been providing information to over 5,000 primary and secondary schools through themed films accompanied by teaching materials. The most recent theme covers ‘designer drugs’ such as GHB and 3-MMC, with the foundation also offering guidance to parents on how to discuss the risks of (designer) drugs at home.

Following the success of 2024 and 2025, Mijn Gitaarschool will host the festival Nieuwveen Live! for the third time on 30 May. Through a colleague, we came into contact with this friendly, local initiative, which we are proud to support this year as a shirt sponsor. Spread across two stages, nearly 20 bands will perform, with a special role for the students of the music school. On the main stage, each band will invite students from Mijn Gitaarschool to join them for at least one song, while the smaller stage will feature bands that originated from the school itself. A day full of great atmosphere and emerging musical talent! 🎸

As in previous years, FIQAS has once again made a financial contribution to Stichting Opkikker. This non-profit organisation is dedicated to providing moments of relief and joy for families with a seriously ill child, through their well-known ‘Opkikker Day’. On this special day, the entire family is treated to a worry-free experience filled with activities tailored to their personal wishes and interests. Nothing is too much – making it a day they’ll never forget.

Last year, FIQAS made a financial contribution to Woongroep Dalí, a parent-led initiative that created nine apartments for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Demand exceeded availability, and unfortunately, the daughter of one of our colleagues just missed out on securing a place. Together with several other parents, our colleague therefore started a similar initiative: Woongroep Aura in Amstelveen, consisting of 15 apartments. They were also still looking for financial support to furnish the shared communal space. Something FIQAS was more than happy to contribute to. We wish all residents the very best of luck and happiness in this special new chapter in their own home 🏠

For the Uithoornse Wieler Trainings Club (UWTC), Edwin Witte plays an active role on the sponsorship committee. And his approach certainly stood out. During his visit to FIQAS, he brought along a mannequin torso dressed in the club’s sponsor jersey, immediately showcasing his passion for cycling and the club 🚵 He shared more about UWTC, where both young and old can take part in road cycling, recreational rides, cyclo-cross and BMX racing. The club features a closed cycling circuit, a BMX track, a cyclo-cross terrain, and a welcoming clubhouse for its approximately 150 members. A friendly, local club that FIQAS is pleased to support with a financial contribution this year.

From 2001 to 2018, FIQAS was the proud main sponsor of handball club HV Aalsmeer. And although we passed on the main sponsor role after that, the warm bond between FIQAS and HV Aalsmeer has never faded. Since last year, FIQAS is officially back at the club with a new sponsorship agreement! Our familiar FIQAS logo is once again visible on shirts and gear – and we’re proud to support the club financially as well. We’re looking forward to many more great memories with our Tigers! 🐯

Since 2020, FIQAS has been the main sponsor and ball sponsor of tennis club All Out in Aalsmeer. With over 1,300 members – including more than 200 juniors – it’s a lively and welcoming club. All Out boasts a tennis hall with four indoor courts and seven clay courts, where you can play a match during the summer season both during the day and in the evening 🎾 Over the years, plenty of FIQAS towels, caps and water bottles have been handed out at various tournaments. And alongside a trophy for the winners, the participants also receive beautiful flowers – something we absolutely love here in Aalsmeer! 🌻

Since 2015, FIQAS has been the main sponsor of teams 1 and 2 of korfball club VZOD from Kudelstaart. In addition to sporting ambitions, VZOD also stands for togetherness, fun and friendship. This is reflected in the many activities organised for members, such as disco bowling, bingo nights, music bingo and the annual youth camp. After the 2024/25 season, FIQAS will pass on the baton as main sponsor, but we are pleased to continue supporting the club financially as a regular sponsor.

Stichting SAM Aalsmeer organises and supports activities that promote the well-being of elderly people and those with disabilities in Aalsmeer and Kudelstaart. One of these activities is enjoying outdoor exercise on a duo bike, together with a volunteer. FIQAS became involved with the foundation in 2014 and has provided a parking space for one of their duo bikes in recent years. On sunny days, the key is picked up several times a week – and the enjoyment begins right away!

In October, we were approached by Mark Simoons, who had seen FIQAS at the Glazen Huis in Aalsmeer – a charity event supporting children’s farm Boerenvreugd – and decided to reach out to us for his own fundraising initiative. Mark asked if FIQAS would be willing to buy traditional Dutch doughnuts (oliebollen), made using his grandmother Coby’s authentic Aalsmeer recipe. His goal was to sell at least 5,000 oliebollen. All proceeds went to Stichting De Tijdmachine, whose ‘Gouwe Ouwe’ project uses live music and dance to combat loneliness among the elderly. A wonderful cause – and a delicious excuse for us to treat everyone at FIQAS to a generous helping of oliebollen!😋
