FIQAS billing for Simpel receives even stronger foundation with DRaaS

14 November 2019 Billing Collection
FIQAS handles - through a Managed Billing Service - the execution and monitoring of the billing and collection processes for over 1,2 million Simpel customers each month.

FIQAS strengthens its invoicing for Simpel with a more robust foundation using DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service).

100% High availability

In collaboration with hosting partner Denit, FIQAS, responsible for managed invoicing and collection processes for Simpel, implemented a setup wherein two separate data centers are connected through a redundant glass ring. This combination of redundancy and geographical separation leads to remarkably high availability approaching a ‘100% high availability’ solution.

Migration to DRaaS

The migration to DRaaS was a strategic choice for Simpel,

which recently renewed its contract with FIQAS for an additional 3 years. Due to the ongoing expansion of its customer base, a more robust disaster recovery and security setup became desirable.

The migration project was a joint effort among FIQAS, Denit, and Simpel, each partner with a defined role. In essence: FIQAS managed the overall process, project approach, data transfer, and integrations. Denit handled the infrastructure, while Simpel oversaw the disaster recovery strategy and conducted user acceptance tests.

Following thorough preparations, the actual migration took only a few overnight hours without any impact on Simpel’s customers. Overall, the migration to DRaaS showcases successful collaboration between the client and its ICT partners.

A Solid Foundation for Growth

With this added assurance of continuity and enhanced scalability, Simpel and FIQAS have now established an even more solid foundation for growth.
