Clean up your environment

20 March 2023 CSR

With spring on the horizon, it’s time for the annual spring cleaning – either literally sweeping through your home or figuratively evaluating where you stand and where you want to go as an organisation. Taking a pause to critically assess your surroundings.

This mentality is deeply ingrained in our company culture, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be springtime for us to seek out the best approaches and solutions for our clients. We do this all year round. Continuously improving ourselves is also embedded in our business and work processes, validated through various internal and external audits. Currently, we have the ‘Spring 2023’ task force where several colleagues from different teams are putting in extra effort for a figurative spring clean-up. Because it makes our work better and more enjoyable!

What will you tackle?

Taking a moment to critically evaluate your environment is precisely what ‘Nederland Schoon’ (Clean Netherlands) also aims for. Does your environment bring you joy when you look at it critically? Your neighbourhood, the park, the local playground, or even the streets and verges in your immediate surroundings?

The slogan for the 21st National Cleanup Day is ‘What will you tackle?’. Take the initiative and make your environment a bit more beautiful than it was. That’s exactly what we at FIQAS strive for. Identify areas for improvement and turn them into action. Hence, we support the National Cleanup Day and also clean up our environment.

Armed with litter pickers and garbage bags, we, along with 20 colleagues, hit the streets and made Aalsmeer a bit more beautiful! In total, we came back with 6 full garbage bags after about half an hour of walking around! A laundry basket, umbrella, wine cooler, and metal ring were among the most remarkable ‘finds’, alongside the expected cans, bottles, and cigarettes. Despite the weather not being ideal, we had a great time cleaning up the neighbourhood together!
