‘600,000 direct debits to distribute the government’s energy compensation,’ that was the task for Greenchoice in collaboration with FIQAS. Both the payments for November and December have been executed without error.

Government Measures

With rising energy prices, the government has decided to implement various measures to assist all small consumers in the Netherlands with their costs. One of these measures includes the €190 energy compensation that had to be paid out in both November and December 2022.

Flawless Distribution of Energy Compensation

This required flexibility and decisiveness from Greenchoice and FIQAS. The rules set by the government were clear: the amount and timelines were fixed. It was up to us to ensure that the payments were made promptly and accurately.

The method of distributing the energy compensation was at the discretion of energy suppliers. Greenchoice chose to automatically offset the amount against any outstanding balances and otherwise directly distribute the €190. For this, our Abillity® platform had to compare potential open invoices per customer.

Fortunately, our system is structured in such a way that we could easily carry out this process. We can confirm that the payment of €190 for both November and December has been handled smoothly and without errors.
