About Credit Expo 2023

“Sustainability” is the central theme of Credit Expo 2023. Sustainability is becoming increasingly important, with more companies integrating it into their positioning. Moreover, sustainability is high on the agenda for many organizations due to the mandatory Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) starting in 2024 for large companies, extending to SMEs in subsequent years. Eventually, ensuring the organization’s sustainability will be a strict requirement for continuity.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the United Nations (UN) in 2015, provide a broad framework to address sustainability. Within the SDG objectives lies the ESG framework (Environment, Social, Governance), specifying how and which SDG objectives should be reported.

The question arises about the concrete implications of these developments for the tasks of Credit Managers. This includes policies to prevent over-indebtedness, socially responsible collection, and the influence of ESG on organizations’ credit ratings. Credit Expo 2023 aims to explore the characteristics of sustainable organizations and examine how Credit Managers can proactively contribute to shaping sustainability within the organization.
